A week of meals and snacks

Another week of meals and snacks is here to inspire you and get those cooking juices flowing.

How my week was

I have not been into the kitchen very much lately. For now I am really only playing catch up in life. The last two days have been a total chaos. Between school runs and prepping for the holiday season ( i.e. gift buying) I feel exhausted! Does anyone relate?

Of course I am still not done!

On the cooking front I stuck to the menu as much as possible. I kid you not when I tell you my family would have survived on cereal otherwise. Which would be fine if only my daughter ate them!

If you follow me on Instagram you might already know my fights regarding meal times with my kids. If not, go fix this now. I miss your company! Oh, NO you are not alone! We all fight one version of this fight once and again. My “solution” this time was to make lunch (our main meal for the day) a formal, for them, setting. I now serve them “family style”, i.e. main dishes in platters, each with it’s own serving utensil accompanied by a number of sides and other paraphernalia, pepper & salt mills, vinegar & olive oil to add as seasoning etc.

For the most part it is working well. Bare in mind that my expectations are minimal and my hopes not high. What I ask for, for now, is for everyone myself included is to be civil. According to age obviously. I will let you know how it goes.
